One affordable and delicious breakfast option in Japan which I love is at Komeda's Coffee. They have the "Morning" set wherein if you order a drink, you'll get a FREE choice of bread (toast or bread roll) with either butter or jam, and a choice of boiled egg, red bean paste or egg paste. Yes, the food comes for free!
I recently visited Kyoto with my boyfriend and we had breakfast at Komeda's. I ordered their Komeda blend coffee and got a toast with strawberry jam and egg paste along with it, and only paid for the price of the coffee(500 yen!).
Komeda's Coffee has branches across Japan so it might be easy to find one near you. They also have a cozy atmosphere and offer free Wi-Fi so you can take your time and relax while eating breakfast. Keep in mind that their morning set is available only until 11:00 AM.
They also have a variety of drinks to choose from as well as sandwiches and desserts which you can enjoy any time of the day. So the next time you're in Japan, make sure to drop by at Komeda's!
