Eating Gyukatsu/Beef Cutlet at Gyukatsu Kyoto Katsygyu (One Of the Best Food I've Ever Eaten in Japan)

My boyfriend and I were going around Kyoto almost two years ago when we first stumbled upon Gyukatsu Kyoto Katsugyu. It was already past noon, and we were skeptical about waiting in line for a restaurant we've never tried. But we were really curious, so we ended up waiting for almost an hour.

And I'm telling you, it did not disappoint us! In fact, I could say that it's ONE OF THE BEST food I've ever eaten in Japan.

I had sirloin in the small size but wished I had ordered the big one when I first took a bite.

My boyfriend had tenderloin in the big size. They also gave us small round hot plates (not in the picture) so we could adjust the doneness to our liking. But I thought that the meat was perfectly cooked and it was sooo good!

Of course, I had to take a picture to remember the food and the restaurant LOL.

If you're going to Kyoto, I highly recommend that you eat at this restaurant because you will not be disappointed! The one where we went to was at Zaimokucho, located at this address. I'm guessing that they probably have longer queues at lunch time. Anyway, they have other branches too, and I tried the one in Shin-Osaka but it wasn't that good.

Hope this helps!

Cheers,

Dyan
